Technical Rider for Concert Programs
The Paul Dresher Ensemble is an electro-acoustic chamber music ensemble, including 6 musicians, 1 or more soloists, 2 audio engineers and 1 production director/lighting designer. This Tech Rider details all the technical requirements of the Ensemble in concert. Any changes or substitutions to this Technical Rider must be approved by the Paul Dresher Ensemble.
Staging Requirements
(To be provided by presenter):
Minimum stage area: 30' wide x 18' deep
Black floor preferred
Rear black curtain
12 music stands
6 orchestra chairs
1 table (3'x6') for House Sound Position
Concert Grand piano (depending upon program)
We provide 2ft. high semi-circular platforming and 6 free-standing 6ft. fabric screens to be lit from the rear.
Lighting Requirements

50 lighting instruments (pre-hung before load-in)
Lighting control board with 48 faders
14 music stand lights
on a dimmer circuit
Crew Requirements and Schedule for One Day Setup
All lighting must be pre-hung before Load-in at 9pm

9am Loadin, setup & focus 4 carp/electricians
and 2 audio technicians
2pm Rehearsal & cues 2 electricians and 1 audio
8pm Performance
2 electricians and 1 audio
10pm Strike 4 carp/electricians and 2 audio
Catering Requirements
(Provided backstage by
the presenter and available for the Ensemble from noon until
11pm)
Beverages to include bottled water, coffee, tea, juice
Deli Platter to include
sandwiches, vegetables dip, fruit etc.
Audio Requirements
1) GENERAL: PDE provides
most of our audio equipment, and 2 engineers.
2) MAIN SYSTEM: PDE provides a Main PA and 200' Snake,
sufficient for most venues up to about 600 seats. Depending
on size and layout of the audience additional speakers and/or
delayed "fill" speaker systems (including eq) may be required
to cover remote areas. The need and design of PA in addition
to PDE's equipment must be approved in advance consultation
with PDE's Engineer.
3) MIX POSITIONS: House Mix Position orchestra level in audience; position PDE approved in advance. (Box Office coordination may be required.)
4) ELECTRICAL: We install a Furman AR-Pro Power Conditioner, which feeds the stage and house audio. (Tie-ins options include: (2 discrete) 15amp Edison 110V, (1) 30amp/110V, (1) 20amp/220V.) Additional Main PA requires 20amps, same AC leg.
PRESENTER PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING:
7) MICROPHONES, STANDS: (1) SM58 (or equivalent) and (1) boom stand.
8) INTERCOM: 10-station intercom system and cable.
9) 3'X6' table (min.) for House Mix Position and 4'X4' table onstage for Monitor Mix Position.
10) SECURITY: Secure place to store equipment, or security guard if equipment is to be left overnight or unattended.

PROGRAM DEPENDENT:
PIANO: The piano must be on stage in the morning and re-tuned
to 440 Hz during dinner break. Preference: Grand; 7' min.;
Steinway, Bosendorfer, Yamaha, Kawai, or Baldwin.
